Chapter 1
1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at least two more.
One of the conflicts is that Tao wants to draw but it is taboo.Another is that the wolf dog is starving but it refuses to eat.
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict.
I think that the first resolution is that the elders or the leaders of the tribe see one of his drawings so they let him go in the cave to draw or he gets lots of food so he saves everyone and ends the famine so they let him go in. The resolution to the second problem is that Tao removes the bone from the top of the wolf dog's mouth and the dog eats.

What two important events happen in this chapter?
One important events is Tao removes a bone from the top of the wolf dog's mouth but the wolf dog was like angry about it so it was like rolling and refusing while Tao was trying to get the bone . Another important event is that Tao went into the Slough that elders said was infested by evil spirits.

One time when my videogame went missing I really wanted to get it back. I thought my brother had stolen it so I wanted to go in but my brother doesn't let me to go into his room but still i tried. I politely asked him but he slammed the door in my face but in two days I went into his room . I went into his room because he was outside in the front picking up dog dung . I looked everywhere I must have spent 4 or 5 minutes so I was worried that my brother would come in and beat me up . I finally got the videogame and got out so I really agree with Tao that you should follow your dreams and not follow societies rules but be careful and sneaky.

What does this tell you about his character?
The reason why Greyberd changed his mind is because he thinks that Tao can be trusted with the secret . Another reason is because Greybeard understands that Tao really wants to make images. This makes me think that Greybeard is trusting. It also tells me that Greybeard is understanding.

My name Juan first off sorry that you have to read lots of letters :). I have had a lot of pets. I’ve had fishes, 13 dogs, 3 lizards, 1 turtle, and 3 hamsters. Still I want a parrot and other birds plus a snake. Basically I love animals! I also love video games. I’ve had every Nintendo system made plus the Xbox, Xbox 360, and PSP!
I’m from Mexico and there is a kind of bad and good holiday. It’s called Dia De Los Reyes or Day of the Kings. It’s not a great big party yet though. We buy a special bread that I don’t like. The special bread has green and red gummy candies and inside the bread are 3 dolls because on this day the three kings gave Jesus gifts. If you get a doll you have to throw a party a month later. I say it’s good because it’s when the kings brought Jesus gifts I don’t like it because the bread tastes bad and because you might have to throw the party I have mixed feelings about this.

In ancient china there were many dynasties but my favorite was the Han dynasty. The Han dynasty was divided into two dynasties the western and the eastern dynasty. The western dynasty was from 206 B.C to 8 A.D and the eastern Han dynasty was from 25 A.D to 220 A.D. In both dynasties there were technical advances and some were in weaponry, armor, and tactics. Although there were new things made the Han dynasty also used past methods and weapons. I will talk about the Han’s warfare in this essay.
One aspect of the Han’s warfare is their variety of weapons. The invention of bronze and iron brought the invention of crossbow and long swords. The crossbow is better than the bow because it is both stronger and more accurate plus it was easier to control. The long sword aloud soldiers to attack at a distance so they don’t get hurt. Other than the long sword the Jian and Qiang were used widely. The Jian was only actually used in the western Han dynasty because in the eastern dynasty it was only used to show soldiers stature. The Qiang was used in both dynasties it was basically a spear type weapon made out of a shaft with a piece of sharp metal attached to the end. Since it was so long people could attack at a safe distance. Although they had lots of weapons without their armor they probably lose all their battles.
There have been lots of improvements in the Han dynasty’s armor. The first of the armor was a single piece chest plate made out of iron that could withstand a thrust from a spear. Although this armor was heavy the noblemen who wore it most likely rode in battle chariot so armor wasn’t a big factor when making armor. As time went by a new armor was made it was called “Liang-Tang”. It was made with two plates of iron instead of one and it wasn’t just noblemen who wore it all soldiers wore it however the officers wore better versions of “Liang-Tang”. Later another armor was invented called fish scale armor this improvement had a better flexing ability. Finally they invented after years horse armor so the chariots could not be beaten easily. Still, without good tactics the weapons and armor would be rendered useless.
One good tactic the Han had was power in numbers, the Han’s army usually had from 130,000 soldiers to about 300,000. Another great tactic was using battle chariots in which kings or generals rode in. The chariots also had space for archers to pick off enemy soldiers from inside. A book called “The Art of War” was written by a great soldier that said techiniques and plans for battle. The best tactic in my opinion was using the Great Wall of China. Chemical warfare was starting in the Han dynasty like poison gas that was used to kill people in buildings. Aside from all this there is one weird and extremely clever tactic that uses only a bamboo kite. When the bamboo kite was flown the wind made a noise that sounded like “Fu fu” or “Beware beware” in a ghostly voice.
So as you can see the Han Dynasty excelled in weaponry like the crossbow, armor like the Liang-Tang, and tactics like poison gas. But the Han should also give credit to the other dynasties like the Ming dynasty for inventing the Great Wall. Whether it was an old weapon or new armor the Han dynasty found out a way to make it better to give them the upper advantage.
